This past weekend was the inaugural Agave Festival in Marfa, and what a weekend! Lots of information on ancient earth ovens, cultivation of agave, and a phenomenal presentation about the complex rock art of the Lower Pecos Canyonlands, including the White Shaman Mural which details the cosmology of people who lived in this area 4000 years ago. Can't wait until next year!
Marfa Glamour
Giant was filmed here in the 50's, and you can still see the shrine to the production at the Paisano Hotel, where the cast stayed. Reportedly, James Dean gave penny candy to the local kids and learned how to lasso from a local ranch hand.
Looking West
Scouting for a car client is always fun. Open roads, big skies. This is a spot just south of Marfa, and we shot here based on the scout photos.
street style
We had an incredible day out in the roads of Marfa. And the model was this porsche.
British Vogue
TBT to the time we produced a shoot for British Vogue shot by Tom Craig and featuring Karen Elson. The handsome cowboy in the background is Ty Mitchell, local legend and owner of the Lost Horse Saloon.
